Drytek+

Estimote is a well –known company for their i-beacons. What are beacons you may ask? Beacons are tiny low power computers that can be attached to any object in the real- world. Using the proximity technology feature, the beacon has the ability to detect human presence and send out a programmed notification to devices close by based on pre-programmed actions.

How does it work?

Each beacon has a Bluetooth Low Energy transmitter which has the ability to emit tiny radio signals over the air which contains data of their choice. Modern smartphones scan for these signals and once received the ohine will either receive a notification or it can be directed to the app.

Why we chose Locly – an innovative software platform

The beacons have merely been implemented into our project for a visual appeal and to provide information about our project. We have connected the beacons with a different software platform called Locly to provide a user friendly experience to all those that would like to learn more about Drytek. Locly is a platform that can be used for both Android and iOS discovery apps with location and proximity features. Locly is basically a platform where digital content a=can be pinned in the location you prefer so it can quickly be delivered to people nearby.

The Locly Sandbox was used for this project since it is a custom app for iPads. This app allowed us to transform it into our own and allow us to deliver the information we choose. Since it is all informative, we have provided details in length for users to be able to completely comprehend what Drytek truly is.
